Job summary

Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation seeks a dynamic activities team member for full-time or part-time roles within the Activities Department. The position involves engaging residents, delivering therapeutic programming, and partnering with the Activity Director to meet psychosocial needs, with every other weekend and holiday required.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of recreation experience in pediatrics or geriatrics, and strong communication,

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal and written/reading skills.
• Be able to facilitate group programs independently.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with residents and families.
• Develop approaches/interventions to meet psychosocial needs.
• Collaborate with Activity Director to run programming ideas.
• Demonstrate knowledge of dementia and therapeutic interventions.
• Work with a team and ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
