Job summary

Continuum Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Recreation Director with strong management skills and sensitivity for residents and families. You will develop and run programming ideas, meet psychosocial needs, and establish rapport with dementia care residents.

The role requires knowledge of dementia interventions, teamwork, and a positive, energetic attitude to maintain dignity and high care standards for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• 2 years Long-Term Care experience.
• CTRS or ADA certified.
• Dementia Specialist or CDP preferred.
• Familiar with long-term care regulation and survey process.
• Able to facilitate group programs independently.
• Positive attitude and energy.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written/reading skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop approaches/interventions to meet the psychosocial needs of residents.
• Establish rapport with Alzheimer's/Dementia care residents and their families.
• Develop and run programming ideas for residents.
• Demonstrate knowledge and experience with residents having dementia and appropriate therapeutic/behavioral interventions.
• Must be able to manage and work with a team.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Must have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, creativity, patience, and energy.
