Ruppert Landscape in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an Enhancement Manager to oversee production, sales, and customer satisfaction for branch enhancement projects. You will manage budgets, develop field leadership, and contribute to branch and company performance goals.

Qualifications

• Two- or four-year horticultural degree and at least two years of industry experience.
• Two years of experience managing others on production level, including recruiting, hiring, evaluations and training.
• Sales and customer service experience with direct customer interaction (min. 2 years).
• Experience managing production of service work; at least two years running multiple projects.
• At least one year estimating enhancement-type work.

Responsibilities

• Communicate company philosophies, policies, and procedures to supervisors.
• Convey annual and long-term branch goals and monitor progress through reviews.
• Develop field managers and respond to personnel needs within the branch.
• Maintain ongoing recruiting to fill production roles across the company.
• Oversee seasonal color rotations.
• Develop profitable estimates for enhancement work to hit sales targets.
• Prepare job packages and billings for enhancement jobs sold.
• Understand and monitor hourly and cost budgets; report to field managers.
• Regularly inspect job sites to monitor quality and address customer concerns within 24 hours.
• Oversee hard material purchases and manage deliveries to the yard.
• Schedule enhancement crews and maintain properly staffed teams.
• Conduct formal and informal training sessions.

Position Description:

The Enhancement Manager oversees the production, sales, and customer satisfaction of all branch enhancement projects, while managing budgets, developing field leadership, and contributing to overall branch and company performance goals. This role requires strong collaboration across teams to drive profitability, operational excellence, and client retention.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate to all your supervisors the philosophies, policies, and procedures by which the company operates.


• Clearly communicate the branch's annual and long-term goals to those supervised, motivate them in an acceptable fashion to \"exceed our expectations\" and monitor progress toward these objectives through timely formal reviews and regular informal evaluations.


• Develop a clear understanding of your field manager's strengths, weaknesses, and professional and personal goals. Based on this knowledge, take an active role in their development within the company in an effort to respond to personnel needs in and out of your branch.


• Maintain a constant recruiting effort to address personnel needs in the production area company-wide.


• Oversee all seasonal color rotations.


• Develop by hand or computer, depending on size, profitable estimates for enhancement work as needed to hit sales objectives.


• Prepare job packages and billings for all enhancement jobs you sell.


• Develop a clear understanding of the hourly and cost budgets for each of your jobs. Monitor by reviewing job costs regularly. Communicate job cost information to field managers on a regular basis to control hours and costs.


• Monitor the quality of our service through regular job site visits. Evaluate site performance by completing one field report/inspection report per quarter for the last three quarters of the year. Address any customer concerns within 24 hours.


• Oversee all hard material purchases for the branch.


• Coordinate all deliveries of material to the yard and maintain the enhancement nursery space.


• Schedule all enhancement crews and maintain properly staffed crews.


• Conduct formal certification training and informal training sessions on a regular basis.


• Write purchase orders and approve invoices for all purchases made.


• Update the enhancement sales sheet for all enhancement sales monthly.


• Monitor AM and PM routines of your crews.


• Help to maintain a branch facility that reflects our corporate image and provides a safe, comfortable environment for all employees and visitors.


• Help to maintain branch fleet and equipment that reflect our image and provide a safe operating environment for our employees.


• Prospect for leads and make sure they get included in the branch's prospecting system.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability and two years' experience managing others on the production level, including recruiting, hiring, performing evaluations, and training and development.


• Demonstrated skill and ability in sales and customer service. Must have at least two years of experience dealing directly with service customers.


• Demonstrated skill and ability in managing the production of service work. At least two years of experience running more than one project at a time.


• Demonstrated ability and at least one year of experience estimating enhancement-type work.


• Two or four-year horticultural or related degrees and two years of industry experience. Additional industry experience or industry certifications can substitute for a non-related degree, two-year degree, or no degree.


• Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English.


• Valid commercial driver's license with a clean record over the last three years.
