Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in enhancement or landscape installation work in a commercial setting.
• Two‑ or four‑year horticultural or related degree plus two years of industry experience.
• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license with a clean record over the last three years.
• At least 1 year in enhancement or landscape installation in a commercial setting.
• Horticultural degree plus two years of experience; substitutions possible.
• Experience purchasing hard and live materials and negotiating price.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.
• .Valid Class A CDL with clean record (last 3 years).

Responsibilities

Enhancement Field Manager – Landscape Maintenance

Position at Ruppert Landscape Maintenance, a family‑owned and employee‑owned commercial landscape construction and management company headquartered in Montgomery County, MD, with operations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Delaware, and Tennessee. The role supports the company's mission to provide opportunities for its people, deliver excellent service to clients, and steward the environment and community.

Position Description

This position is responsible for managing labor and materials in the field to complete assigned enhancement projects. It also involves developing the team members who report to the manager. Success is measured by jobs completed on time and on budget with low negative turnover of assistants and crew members, and by collaborating with landscape‑management field managers and other enhancement field managers to meet branch goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop a clear understanding of the company’s philosophies, branch short‑term and long‑term goals, and financial position.
• Know your people and support their development; set goals, and monitor progress through timely formal and informal evaluations.
• Participate actively in training by attending or conducting certification sessions regularly.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities on assigned enhancements.
• Develop and monitor hourly and cost budgets for each job, reviewing hours, reports, and costs regularly; communicate budget hours to assistants and crew.
• Meet the client on every job.
• Inspect work daily and secure a satisfactory completion form at day’s end.
• Sell an acceptable level of extras via T&M tickets.
• Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in good working order.
• Oversee AM and PM crew procedures.
• Complete daily time entry.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skill and ability to organize and schedule projects.
• Experience managing others at some level.
• Demonstrated skill and ability to work with service customers.
• At least one year of experience in enhancement or landscape installation work in a commercial setting.
• Two‑ or four‑year horticultural or related degree plus two years of industry experience; industry experience or certifications may substitute for a related degree.
• Experience making hard and live material purchases and negotiating price.
• Knowledge of basic computer operation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English.
• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license with a clean record over the last three years.
