Job summary

Summit Public Schools is seeking an English Teacher for the SY26-27 year to join a mission-driven network of public schools in the Bay Area. You will mentor a consistent group of students, lead project-based learning, and participate in regular professional development.

This role emphasizes equitable education and a collaborative learning culture across Summit’s campuses. You will implement Summit’s common curriculum and assessment system, engaging in data-informed planning and classroom

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Teaching Credential in California or another US state.
• Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).
• Experience with project-based learning and mentoring students is valued.

Responsibilities

• Deliver project-based learning through 90-minute blocks or four 55-minute blocks per day depending on grade level.
• Develop lesson plans using student progress data and provide targeted supports.
• Mentor a small group of students daily, building strong relationships and guiding their goals.
• Manage Self-Directed Learning time and targeted interventions to support student growth.
• Collaborate in all-faculty meetings for professional development and school improvement.
