Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School is seeking an experienced Math SPED Teacher to deliver targeted instruction to students with disabilities in Harvey, LA. You will implement specially designed math instruction, support IEP goals, and collaborate with general education staff to ensure student growth.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and SPED certification (or eligibility), be proficient with Google Suite, and demonstrate strong communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Special Education certification preferred or eligible for certification.
• Experience providing direct instruction to students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEP process, accommodations/modifications, and progress monitoring.
• Proficiency with Google Suite tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver direct, specially designed instruction in Math to students with IEPs, using accommodations, modifications, and scaffolds as needed.
• Implement research-based interventions tailored to individual student needs while maintaining high expectations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to align instruction with grade-level content.
• Support students in developing executive functioning, self-advocacy, and independent learning skills.
• Collect and analyze progress monitoring data aligned to IEP goals.
• Lead or contribute to IEP meetings with clear data and next steps.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for success.
• Maintain accurate records of IEP implementation, accommodations, and service minutes.
