Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA seeks a Severe/Profound Special Education Teacher for grades 6-12 in a self-contained setting. You will deliver instruction in core academics, functional skills, life skills, and transition readiness tailored to each student’s IEP goals.

Strong collaboration with families, teammates, and support staff is essential. The role is full-time (10-month) with a starting salary range of $40,000–$55,000 and opportunities for stipends and performance-based

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and relevant teaching certification preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP implementation, accommodations and progress monitoring.
• Ability to adapt curriculum for students with significant disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction in academics, functional skills, life skills, and transition readiness.
• Implement IEP goals, collect progress data, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with families, paraprofessionals, and SPED team to support student needs.
