The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking an English Learner Education Program Monitoring Specialist to support the Targeted and Focused Monitoring process across LEAs. This role conducts document reviews, classroom observations, interviews, and data analysis to ensure compliance with ELE requirements and meaningful access to programs for multilingual learners.

The position is based in Everett with a hybrid schedule (3 in-office days per week) and requires collaboration with district leaders,

Qualifications

• Experience in English learner education, ESL, bilingual education, or related fields.
• Strong written communication skills, including report writing and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with district leaders, educators, and other impacted parties.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Complete TFM reviews of ELE programs for assigned LEAs to support improved outcomes.
• Conduct document reviews and analyze LEA data related to English learner services and outcomes.
• Participate in virtual and onsite LEA visits, classroom observations, interviews, focus groups, and other review activities.
• Draft monitoring reports, findings, and technical assistance recommendations.
• Review LEA corrective action plans and progress updates.
• Track LEA implementation of corrective actions and provide feedback on submitted evidence.
• Participate in technical assistance meetings with LEA leaders and educators.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of monitoring activities.
• Collaborate with DESE staff to improve ELE monitoring processes.
