Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking an English Learner Program Teacher (ELPT) to lead EL program administration, support school leadership, and guide professional development on English Language Development. The role includes coordinating mandated screenings, coordinating communications, and collaborating with special education staff to support ELs.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bilingual and/or ESL Endorsement.
• Knowledge of standards (e.g., WIDA ELD, CCSS).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate administration of mandated EL screening and testing within regulatory timeframes.
• Enter Screener results in Aspen and review EL rosters and ACCESS reports.
• Disseminate translated letters and notifications to families via Aspen.
• Collaborate with special education staff to ensure ELs with IEPs are served appropriately.
• Maintain EL profiles and coordinate EL program documentation and reports.
• Provide EL placement recommendations to the principal and support family engagement.
