Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a qualified administrator with a strong background in bilingual education to lead EL program support across CPS. The role requires a Bachelor's in Education and a valid Illinois PEL with bilingual/ESL endorsement.

You will partner with networks, school leaders and EL Program Teachers to apply data-informed guidance, ensure compliance with state and federal law, and develop professional learning for ELPTs and principals. Travel district-wide is expected.

• Experience in teaching bilingual education, instructional leadership, or school administration (prior leadership preferred)
• Proven ability to utilize data for instructional improvement and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to build organizational capacity
• Personal and professional commitment to educational equity for English Learners

Responsibilities

• Direct School Support: Partner with networks, school leaders and EL Program Teachers (ELPTs) to provide data-informed guidance, programmatic support, and resources for English learners across CPS.
• Program Implementation & Accountability: Guide schools in understanding bilingual programs aligned with district policies and conduct EL Program reviews to ensure accountability with state and federal law.
• Professional Learning: Develop, lead, and facilitate professional learning opportunities for ELPTs and school leaders.
• Collaboration: Foster cross-functional collaboration within OMME and throughout CPS to ensure program alignment and deliver cohesive support.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Bilingual Ed, ESL, or related field

Valid Illinois PEL with Bilingual and/or ESL endorsement

Job description

• Valid Illinois PEL with Bilingual and/or ESL endorsement required (Administrative endorsement preferred)
