Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks an English Learner Program Teacher (ELPT) to lead English Learner program initiatives, support school leadership in EL administration, and coordinate professional development on English Language Development for ELs. The ELPT will engage parents of ELs, participate in quarterly OLCE trainings, and ensure high-quality instruction aligned with CCSS and WIDA standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating screenings, rosters, testing, and program reviews across schools

Qualifications

Hold a Bilingual and/or ESL Endorsement.
Knowledge of standards (e.g., WIDA ELD, CCSS).
Understanding of district policies and procedures for ELs.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Promote high-quality instruction for all ELs.

Responsibilities

Coordinate administration of mandated State-prescribed Screeners within 30 days of enrollment and 14 days thereafter.
Enter State-prescribed Screener results in Aspen.
Review EL rosters and ACCESS reports for appropriate placement/transition.
Coordinate distribution of Parent Notification Letters and translated versions.
Collaborate with special education staff to ensure ELs with IEPs are serviced.
Update EL profiles in Aspen promptly.
Coordinate ACCESS testing within mandated time frames and report to Student Assessment.
Maintain documentation for ELPD sessions and EL Program Reviews.
