Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Teacher responsible for instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes, under the supervision of the principal, and for related duties as required.

The role requires completing student teaching, obtaining the Illinois teaching certificate, applying contemporary teaching methods, maintaining records, communicating with parents, and participating in professional meetings and occasional field trips and after-school activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of subject matter consistent with state certification requirements.
• Ability to apply contemporary teaching practices and manage a classroom.
• Ability to communicate with parents and guardians effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plan instructional activities and assess pupil progress.
• Maintain attendance and grade records; monitor discipline in class and on campus.
