Job summary

Illinois Education Job Bank is seeking a District MTSS Coordinator & Instructional Coach to lead district MTSS implementation, provide instructional coaching, and coordinate data-driven interventions.

The role collaborates with teachers, interventionists, special education, multilingual learners staff, and administrators to strengthen instructional practices and ensure timely, evidence-based support for students.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License appropriate to the position.
• Minimum of 5 years successful professional experience in education.
• Strong knowledge of MTSS, assessment, intervention, data-based decision-making.
• Ability to interpret and communicate student achievement data.
• Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, organization, and project-management skills.
• Ability to independently research educational topics and synthesize findings for staff and administration.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities across buildings and grade levels.
• Structured literacy or literacy-related professional learning (preferred).
• Knowledge of evidence-based mathematics instruction and intervention.

Responsibilities

• Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the district's MTSS framework.
• Facilitate MTSS, grade-level, data, and student problem-solving meetings.
• Coordinate district benchmark, screening, and progress-monitoring assessments.
• Help teachers interpret student data and guide instruction.
• Support selection, implementation, and evaluation of targeted interventions.
• Provide collaborative, non-evaluative instructional coaching.
• Support staff through planning, modeling, resources, and problem-solving.
• Develop and facilitate professional learning.
• Research evidence-based practices and emerging instructional developments.
• Support evidence-aligned literacy and mathematics instruction and translate research into practice.
• Apply science of learning to coaching, intervention, PD, and resource evaluation.
• Support standards-aligned assessment, grading, reporting and standards-based grading.
• Help district respond to changes in Illinois standards and instructional priorities.
• Support curriculum and instructional resource implementation and grant management.
