QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid NJDOE Instructional Certificate with an English/Language Arts endorsement for Grades 6–12.
2. Demonstrated successful teaching experience in high school English Language Arts; experience teaching multiple secondary grade levels preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of effective secondary ELA instructional practices, curriculum design, assessment, differentiation, student supports, and classroom management.
4. Knowledge of current New Jersey Student Learning Standards for English Language Arts and evidence-based practices in literature, informational text, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and vocabulary instruction.
5. Ability to plan and deliver rigorous, engaging, standards-aligned instruction that develops students' reading comprehension, literary analysis, writing, critical thinking, research, and communication skills.
6. Ability to use assessment data, student work, and other instructional evidence to monitor progress, differentiate instruction, and support diverse learners at the high school level.
7. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with high school students, families, colleagues, counselors, and administrators.
8. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
9. Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70).
