Job summary

Vanguard College Prep is seeking full-time educators to teach English core skills and guide students toward top college readiness scores. You will manage schedules, update lesson plans, and model professional behavior with strong communication.

A bachelor’s degree in humanities from US institutions is required, with teaching or Writing Center experience a plus. The ideal candidate will have 3.5+ GPA, strong English proficiency, and comfort with MS Office and G-Suites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in humanities from US Schools (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).
• Master’s degree or higher preferred.
• Teaching experience in English and/or college-level Writing Center (1+ years).
• Demonstrated academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

Responsibilities

• Teach and Inspire: Instruct small groups of students in English core skills to promote long-term understanding and top scores in college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).
• Track Growth: Track students’ progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum with individualized growth opportunities.
• Manage and Model: Maintain and update student lesson schedules, hold students accountable for assignments, communicate professionally.
• Innovate: Develop and implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
• Mentor: Guide middle and high school students through a competitive and stressful college application process.
