Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) in Texas seeks an E&T Manager for Design Services (Checking). You will lead a team of about ten Design Checkers and Liaison Engineers, safeguarding drawings and model integrity while moving engineering change packages to release across MFC programs.

The role champions the Model-Based Enterprise migration, upskilling the team in model-based definition, GD&T, and MB checking to ensure a faster, more consistent release.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• Experience leading design checkers and liaison engineers.
• Proficiency in ASME Y14.5 GD&T and Y14.100 drawing practices.
• Experience creating/reviewing engineering drawings, models, and parts lists.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (Creo or similar) and PLM tools (Windchill/dPLM).
• Knowledge of Change Requests/Notices and CM principles.
• Commitment to MBDefinition or equivalent digital-transformation experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to convey technical info to diverse audiences.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Design Checkers and Liaison Engineers.
• Ensure staffing coverage across concurrent programs and priorities.
• Define competency and career-development pathways for checking roles.
• Champion the migration to Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) and upskill the team.
• Drive faster, consistent release cycles with right-sized approvers and reduced rework.
• Oversee drawing/model integrity and establish standards of readiness.
• Coordinate releases and support change control boards and design reviews.
• Leverage Windchill/dPLM data and dashboards to manage performance.
• Uphold security, safety, and quality standards across programs.
