Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Electromechanical Design Engineer for its Missiles & Fire Control (MFC) unit in Orlando. You will lead engineering teams, act as the primary technical liaison for customers, and architect high‑density circuit-card packaging for ASIC/SoC/MCP solutions.

You will design electromechanical systems for advanced DoD programs, lead design reviews, and drive risk, schedule, and cost management while mentoring engineers and ensuring performance in harsh environments.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (MS/PhD preferred).
  • 10 years of professional electromechanical engineering experience (without a degree).
  • 5+ years in electromechanical engineering with relevant scope.
  • Proficient in CATIA modeling and electromechanical system design.
  • Proficient with CCA/PWB, cable/harness design and development, and electronic packaging design.
  • Technical or project leadership across engineering/production lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IPT and Engineering Lead, directing engineers and serving as primary technical liaison for customers.
  • Architect, design, and validate circuit-card packages for ASIC, SoC, and MCP solutions.
  • Create high-density circuit cards, cables, interconnects meeting size, weight, power, and security constraints.
  • Design electromechanical systems for DoD programs including PCBs, card assemblies, harnesses, and sub-assemblies.
  • Lead design‑assurance reviews, track issues, and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Conduct thermal, signal-integrity, and EMC analyses for harsh DoD environments.
  • Coordinate with systems, hardware, software, test, and supply‑chain teams to deliver quality on schedule and budget.
  • Manage risk, schedule, and earned‑value metrics; report status to senior leadership.
  • Set technical direction based on customer requests and program objectives.
  • Mentor engineers and foster continuous‑improvement initiatives.
