Job summary

Medtronic Neuroscience in Fridley, MN is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support joining technologies and pilot process development for implantable medical devices. You will work with engineers and cross-functional partners to translate concepts into repeatable manufacturing processes and support transfers.

This onsite role requires 7+ years of hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting, the ability to read engineering drawings, document data, and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on technical experience supporting manufacturing, engineering development, precision assembly, equipment, prototyping, or related technical environments.
• Experience troubleshooting and improving manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, precision assemblies, and/or electromechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, work instructions, and technical documentation and utilize common measurement and fabrication tools.
• Experience collecting, documenting, and communicating build, process, or experimental data to support engineering and manufacturing activities.
• Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with engineers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of precision assembly and manufacturing processes for implantable medical device components and assemblies.
• Prototype, build, test, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and assembly methods.
• Set up, operate, modify, and troubleshoot manufacturing and laboratory equipment and prototype tooling.
• Execute engineering and feasibility builds with data collection, issue resolution, and documentation of results.
• Develop tooling and fixtures to improve process performance and repeatability.
• Support engineering experiments through hands-on build execution, measurement, and corrective actions.
• Create process documentation, operating instructions, and training materials for maturation and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing partners to support pilot builds and process transfers.
