Job summary

Medtronic is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health manufacturing engineering group in Fridley, MN. You will join a team delivering scalable process development, pilot builds, and manufacturing transfers for implantable devices.

The role emphasizes hands-on build execution, troubleshooting, and documentation, with up to 25% travel to partners and transfer locations. A technical degree or apprenticeship is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on experience in manufacturing or engineering development.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and electromechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings and use measurement tools and specs.
• Experience with DFA/DFM, poka-yoke, Lean or continuous improvement.
• For foreign degrees, meet US equivalency requirements when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute precision assembly/manufacturing processes for implants.
• Prototype, build, test, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing equipment and fixtures.
• Set up and operate electromechanical systems and prototype tooling.
• Conduct engineering/feasibility builds, coordinate materials, and document results.
• Create tooling, gauges, nests, and apparatus to improve repeatability.
• Support experiments with hands-on builds, data collection, and corrective actions.
• Produce process documentation and training materials for maturation.
• Collaborate with internal/external partners for pilot builds and transfers.
