Job summary

Four Seasons Hotels is seeking an Engineering Technician in Sunnyvale, CA to support design, build, test and maintenance of test rigs and vehicle platforms. The role involves hands-on prototyping, wiring, diagnostics and cross-disciplinary troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and automotive systems.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, prototyping, wiring, schematics interpretation, and contributing to hardware testing, documentation, and procurement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on technical experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive, or robotics.
• Experience assembling prototypes, wiring and cable assemblies.
• Able to read electrical schematics and datasheets.
• Lab, shop, or build environment experience.
• Strong soldering and hands-on skills.
• Familiarity with shop equipment and tools.
• Experience with 3D printers and diagnostic tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with Python, Linux, or ROS is a plus.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) is a plus.
• Exposure to AV systems (LiDAR, radar, cameras) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot vehicle systems, sensors, and computer components.
• Perform root cause analysis and system calibration.
• Assemble prototypes, wiring, and cable assemblies.
• Interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Support testing and validation of hardware systems.
• Manage inventory of lab components and supplies.
• Handle procurement and maintain supplier relationships.
• Maintain documentation for assembly and procedures.
• Work collaboratively to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
