Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is seeking an Engineering Technician III to support lab expansion in Plymouth, MN. The role performs laboratory testing, sets up and operates complex equipment, and ensures compliance with ISO 17025.

Qualified candidates will have an HVAC&R associate degree or related experience, plus lab or field service exposure and relevant certifications. This position offers growth opportunities, strong benefits, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in HVAC&R or related experience.
• Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service is preferred.
• Fork truck training/licence, Man lift training/licence, Universal card, or R410a card are preferred.
• Mentorship experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard.
• Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance.
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times.
• Maintain EH&S safety policy knowledge and perform duties safely.
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams.
• Obtain fork truck licenses and related certifications as required.
• Document test results according to laboratory procedures.
• Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities.
• Provide direction and training to junior technicians when needed.

Shift Hours

Your Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard.
• Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance.
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times.
• Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams.
• Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications.
• Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements.
• Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures.
• Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities.
• Provide direction, assistance and training to other technicians (senior roles only).

Your Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in HVAC&R or related experience
• Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service (preferred)
• Fork truck training/license, Man lift training/license, Universal card, or R410a card (preferred)
• Mentorship experience (preferred)

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.65 to $50.77 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
