Job description

Daikin Applied is seeking an Engineering Technician I - IV to support its planned laboratory expansion throughout 2026.

Location

Plymouth, MN

Shift Hours

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM, Monday – Thursday (10% shift differential)

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard.
• Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance.
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions.
• Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times.
• Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams.
• Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications.
• Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements.
• Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures.
• Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities.
• Provide direction, assistance and training to other technicians (senior roles only).

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in HVAC&R or related experience.
• Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service (preferred).
• Fork truck training/license, man lift training/license, universal card, or R410a card (preferred).
• Mentorship experience (preferred).

Compensation

The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.65 to $50.77 in Minnesota. The displayed range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade for which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
