Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc in the United States is seeking an Engineering Technician III to perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests on current and new product designs under close supervision.

You will support continuous improvement, prepare test reports, handle documentation, and assist with audits and 5S programs; requires a High School Diploma and 5 years of relevant experience. Experience with ISO 17025 is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years of relevant work experience in testing or lab settings.
• Experience with testing in electrical, mechanical or environmental domains preferred.

Responsibilities

• Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures.
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical criteria.
• Use measurement devices to collect data and document results.
• Interpret and document measurements with accuracy.
• Assist in assembling and fabricating test equipment per blueprint specs.
• Follow guidelines for bill of materials.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting and maintain test documentation.
• Prepare formal and informal test reports.
• Assist with Engineering Laboratory Audit and 5S programs.

The Engineering Technician III is responsible for performing electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests of current and new product designs under close supervision. Conducts continuous improvement activities to reduce the potential for product defects. Involved with problem identification, containment activities, action plan development and execution. Ensure that the test requirements for product testing and processes are defined and met.

Responsibilities

• Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for stated criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 and Laboratory Scope of Operations
• Use various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices
• Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements
• Assists in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications
• Follow guidelines for bill of materials
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting activities; Maintain test-related documentation in, and support administration of, database environment
• Prepare formal and informal test reports
• Assist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs
