Job summary

Detroit Water and Sewerage Department is seeking an Engineering Technician II to join a team that prepares engineering drawings, maps, and related data for project development. The role involves researching sources, modifying complex CADD drawings, and coordinating with multiple departments to assemble GIS input and reports.

The ideal candidate will have experience with drafting principles, basic GIS concepts, and the ability to work with contract management and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide research from various engineering units and outside agencies for the preparation of engineering design drawings.
• Review, create and modify complex CADD drawings, maps, graphs for GIS input.
• Search reference materials and engineering office files and compile information from other departments for use in development of various drawings.
• Follow safety policies and procedures in carrying out duties.
• A valid Michigan Driver’s License and the ability to drive a motor vehicle on all terrain.
