Job summary

Delta Township seeks an experienced Engineering Technician to support civil infrastructure projects, including wastewater, water, parks, and private development. You will perform surveying, drafting, mapping, and permit administration, while maintaining records and serving the public.

The role requires AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency, GIS capability, and strong communication with contractors, township staff, and residents.

Qualifications

Equivalent to an associate degree with coursework in engineering, surveying, construction management, or related field(s).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in providing engineering technician services on municipal infrastructure projects; design, drafting, GIS mapping, surveying, permitting, inspection, or project administration.
Requires possession of a valid Vehicle Operator's License.

Responsibilities

Develops engineering plans and specifications utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
Operates survey equipment and gathers field data; establishes line and grade for construction projects.
Inspects construction projects for compliance with plans and specs; submits daily inspection forms.
Reviews easement descriptions and rights‑of‑way for public utilities.
Develops GIS maps and assists with GIS database maintenance.
Reviews site development and utility construction plans for Township standards.
