Job summary

Golden State Water Company is recruiting a CAD Technician II to support drafting for capital projects using AutoCAD and to assist engineers with exhibits and budgets. The role includes preparing as-built plans and updating system maps, with emphasis on reading plans and GIS-enabled workflows.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, CAD experience in public utilities, and skills in communication and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AS degree in CAD Technology preferred.
• Two years CAD experience in general civil design or public utilities design required.
• Experience in water distribution, storage and supply facilities desirable.
• Effective typing, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read engineering plans and maps.
• AutoCAD certification(s) preferred.
• Proficiency with GIS applications utilizing AutoCAD Map preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drafting for capital projects using AutoCAD based on engineers' instructions.
• Assist in ensuring plans meet specifications, standard drawings, and approved materials.
• Assist in preparing exhibits and compiling information for capital budgets, status reports, and schedules.
• Prepare as-built plans and update system maps.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
