Job summary

Delta Township is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support civil infrastructure projects, including wastewater, water, parks, and non-motorized pathways. You will perform plan drafting, surveying, GIS duties, permit administration, and site inspections, working closely with the public and township staff.

Requirements include an associate degree in a related field and at least 5 years’ municipal experience, with proficient AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam skills.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to an associate degree with coursework in engineering, surveying, construction management, or related field(s).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience providing engineering technician services on municipal infrastructure projects.
• Requires possession of a valid Vehicle Operator's License.

Responsibilities

• Develops engineering plans and specifications utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
• Operates survey equipment and gathers field information; establishes line and grade for construction projects.
• Inspects construction projects and verifies contractor methods and materials against plans and specs.
• Reviews property and easement descriptions and rights-of-way for public utilities.
• Develops GIS maps and assists with GIS database maintenance.
• Reviews site development and utility construction plans for compliance with Township standards.
• Reviews as-built drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Revises as-built records using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam.
• Coordinates right-of-way permits and inspects sidewalk permits as required.
• Assists the public with utility location and inquiries; conducts field observations.
• Performs duties related to MS4 permit inspections and testing.
