Job summary

Terracon in New Jersey seeks a Field/Lab Technician to perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, and concrete. You will communicate findings to the Project Manager and prepare reports documenting testing results with accuracy and timeliness.

Under supervision, you will support testing assignments, maintain equipment, and follow safety practices on all projects while pursuing required certifications and ensuring quality

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Nuclear Density Gauge certification preferred within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision of higher level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicate information to Project Manager and discuss accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
• Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager
• Be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
• Maintain assigned equipment.
• Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
