Job summary

Midland Door Solutions is seeking an Engineering Technician in West Fargo, ND to support door design and operation by optimizing existing products and developing new systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and test while collaborating with multiple teams across the organization.

The role requires hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, familiarity with PLC/HMI, hydraulics, and 3D CAD (SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree in Mechatronics, Automation, or similar preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with VFDs, AC/DC motors, relays, sensors, & hydraulics.
• Experience integrating and troubleshooting PLC/HMI programming.
• Metal fabrication (welding, machining, assembly).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving ability.
• Basic computer networking skills.
• High level of attention to detail and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot faults in electromechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop detailed mechanical drawings using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Conduct engineering tests to verify system functionality and performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all work completed, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to drive project success.
• Collaborate across all departments to ensure effective and efficient designs.
• Assist in research and development of new products and designs.
