Job summary

Sharp Packaging Solutions, part of UDG Healthcare plc, is seeking an Engineering Technician to design, develop, fabricate, install and qualify packaging machinery and inspection equipment. You will work with CAD modeling, PLC control systems, robotics, and vision systems to support production needs.

The role requires a 2-year technical degree and at least 5 years' experience in setting up and operating production equipment, with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two-year college or technical degree in related Engineering Technology fields.
• Minimum of 5 years related experience in setting-up and operating production equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing lines and coordinating projects.
• Familiarity with manufacturing procedures in food or pharmaceutical environments (FDA/cGMP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Designs electrical/mechanical systems and equipment for the facility and production needs.
• Advanced troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining mechanical and electrical control systems.
• Uses CAD/Solid Modeling to design electro-mechanical equipment and generate schematics.
• Develops control systems with PLC coding and motion/robotic components.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs (Logix500/Logix5000) and Panel View software.
• Experience with robotics (ABB, Universal Robots) and vision systems.
• Creates electrical schematics and machine wiring diagrams for equipment.
