Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Vancouver, WA is seeking an Engineering Technician II to support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced engineering environment. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills and a hands-on approach to innovative products.

You will assemble, maintain, and upgrade prototypes, support builds with motors and sensors, perform tests, document results, and assist engineers with technical issues while keeping a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• GD&T, PLCs, or Visual Basic experience is a plus

What You’ll Do

• Assemble, maintain, and upgrade prototypes (mechanical + wiring + soldering)
• Support builds using motors, sensors, pneumatics, and related systems
• Perform testing and accurately document results
• Troubleshoot issues with prototypes and assemblies
• Provide technical support to engineers
• Keep workspaces clean, safe, and organized

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s preferred)
• 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
• Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Team player with good communication skills
• Experience with GD&T, PLCs, or Visual Basic is a plus
• Lab/production setting (PPE required)
• May require standing for extended periods (up to 12 hours)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Occasional travel may be required
