  • Build and wire sophisticated electrical systems including sensors, motors, actuators, control panels, harnesses, and instrumentation
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues during development and testing
  • Support engineering experiments, validation activities, and data collection efforts with accuracy and efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering and cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, manufacturability, and performance
  • Assist with equipment installation, calibration, maintenance, and commissioning activities
  • Develop and improve assembly procedures, technical documentation, and lab/shop organization
  • Help establish scalable best practices for prototype builds and engineering operations
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and high-functioning laboratory and workshop environment
  • Effectively manage shifting priorities and contribute to multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree with 5 years or associate’s degree with 8 years of experience or a technical certification, or equivalent practical experience in Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of relevant hands‑on technical experience in engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, or R&D environment
  • Strong electromechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
  • Experience with mechanical assembly and electrical wiring/integration
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and standard lab/shop equipment
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑moving, team‑oriented environment

Preferred

  • Experience supporting R&D hardware development and rapid prototype iteration
  • Experience with precision soldering, cable fabrication, and connector assembly
  • Experience with sensors, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and instrumentation systems
  • Familiarity with automation systems, robotics, motion systems, or fluidic systems
  • Basic machining, fabrication, or CAD (SolidWorks) experience
  • Experience in biotech, life sciences, medical device, or other highly technical, regulated industries
