Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to join a fast-paced product development team. You will build prototypes, perform testing, troubleshoot systems, and help turn ideas into commercial products.

This hands-on role combines mechanical and electrical work, requiring attention to detail, problem-solving, and collaboration with engineers. You will document results and support pilot builds through to production.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in electromechanical technology or related field.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, engineering, lab, or product development environments.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment (DMMs, power supplies).
  • Mechanical assembly and fabrication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, modify, and maintain electromechanical prototypes and test fixtures.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and refine products.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, and system integration.
  • Execute tests, collect and document results.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and system-level issues.
  • Support verification, reliability, and performance testing.
  • Document prototype changes and test outcomes.
  • Assist with pilot builds and production transitions.

In this role, you will work alongside engineers and technical experts to build prototypes, perform testing, troubleshoot sophisticated systems, and help transform ideas into commercially successful products. What You'll Do
  • Build, assemble, modify, and maintain electromechanical prototypes, test fixtures, and laboratory equipment.
  • Partner with engineers to develop, evaluate, and refine new products and technologies.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, soldering, cable fabrication, and system integration.
  • Execute testing activities and accurately collect, analyze, and document results.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and system‑level issues.
  • Support product verification, validation, reliability, and performance testing efforts.
  • Document prototype changes, test outcomes, observations, and recommended improvements.
  • Contribute to pilot builds and product transition efforts as new technologies move toward production.
  • Create and maintain assembly procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Manage laboratory tools, equipment, inventory, and calibration records.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure products meet performance, quality, and reliability objectives.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent vocational training in:
    • Electromechanical Technology
    • Electronics Technology
    • Mechatronics
    • Mechanical Engineering Technology
    • Or a related technical field
  • Approximately 2 years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, product development, or technical service environments.
  • Ability to interpret:
    • Electrical schematics
    • Mechanical drawings
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Technical assembly documentation
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters, power supplies, and similar diagnostic tools.
  • Mechanical assembly and fabrication experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting prototype development or new product introduction programs.
  • Knowledge of motors, sensors, actuators, pneumatic systems, and motion control technologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD drawings and engineering change management processes.
  • Experience with soldering, crimping, and cable harness assembly.
  • Exposure to design verification, reliability, or product validation testing.
  • Experience working in regulated or quality‑controlled environments.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, automation systems, or embedded technologies.
