Job summary

Aleron is seeking a Sr R&D Engineering Technician for an on-site role in Sparks, NV. You will support R&D by running advanced metrology/testing, building and calibrating prototypes, and partnering with engineers to troubleshoot and document results.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8 AM–5 PM) with potential overtime. Salary is an hourly contract-to-direct, reflecting experience in semiconductor environments and robust testing capabilities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Engineering Technician or Electrical Technician.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry is preferred.
  • Soldering and basic electrical test bench skills.
  • Ability to operate manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment with safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate advanced gas metrology systems and coordinate test schedules.
  • Write control sequences and code for automated testing.
  • Collect data and perform preliminary analysis on data quality.
  • Research concepts for resolving complex technical problems.
  • Build, test and calibrate prototypes.
  • Assist engineers with troubleshooting and modifications.
  • Write test plans and reports for staff analysis.
  • Setup test stations and decide on test priorities.

Compensation: $29-31/hour

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 AM-5 PM

There will be an opportunity to work overtime on weekdays depending on business needs. This is not a requirement.

About the Opportunity:

Our semiconductor manufacturing client has an immediate opening for a Sr R&D Engineering Technician that is reporting to the Engineering Manager, this on-site role in Sparks, NV supports R&D by running advanced metrology/testing, building and calibrating prototypes, and partnering with engineers to troubleshoot and document results.

What You'll Do:
  • Operate advanced gas metrology systems and coordinate efficiently managed test schedules
  • Write control sequences and code for automated testing
  • Collect data and perform preliminary analysis on data quality
  • Research concepts and approaches for the resolution of complex technical problems
  • Operate manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment
  • Resolve problems and make routine recommendations
  • Build, test, and calibrate prototypes
  • Assist engineers in trouble shooting and modifications
  • Write test plans and reports for engineering staff analysis
  • Setup test stations and decide on test priorities
  • Write test procedures and generate test result reports
  • Work independently under general supervision

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Engineering Technician or Electrical Technician
