Job summary

Acara Solutions seeks an Engineering Technician for a 12-month contract in Palm Bay, FL. You will set up and perform manual and automated tests on advanced hardware, configure test equipment, and verify calibration while recording results for engineering review.

Your background includes 6+ years operating RF and digital testing gear, strong communication, and the ability to handle sensitive hardware in a regulated environment. A Secret clearance is required.

• Ability to follow detailed procedures and use specialized test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and execute manual and automated tests by following detailed procedures and engineering instructions.
• Transport, assemble, and configure test equipment, fixtures, and cables while verifying equipment calibration and software readiness.
• Operate RF, optical, and digital test equipment to collect, record, and validate test results.
• Document test outcomes, identify failures or anomalies, and support troubleshooting efforts alongside engineering teams.
• Execute automated test programs using LabVIEW or TestStand interfaces while maintaining accurate testing documentation.

Job Title: Engineering Technician

Location: Palm Bay, FL

Employment: Contract (12 months)

Industry: Aerospace and Defense

Compensation: $ 30 - $35/hr.

Schedule: 1st shift 6 AM - 3:30 PM Every other Friday off

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6+ years of experience in operating RF and Digital test equipment and technology.
• Must have an active Secret Clearance

What Sets You Apart:

• Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills.
• Experience handling very sensitive and fragile hardware, including mating and de‑mating high‑density connectors, RF and optical connections.
• Experience with qualification testing, including vibration, thermal and thermal vacuum testing.
• Willing to work overtime as requested.
• Very good computer skills, must be able to run automated tests.
• Strong windows, navigate directories, MS office programs ,able to adhere to strict, documented processes.
• Strong attention to detail and able to work with small/fragile/detailed parts

Additional Information:

• Requires the ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance
