CTDI is a large-scale Engineering, Repair, and Logistics company that serves the country’s largest wireless providers and broadband services. We are hiring a Building Maintenance Technician for 1st shift (7:00AM–3:00PM, Mon–Fri) in South Bend, Indiana, to maintain and troubleshoot automation equipment and support facility improvements.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of maintenance experience with building systems, conveyors, robots, and PLC control, plus strong communication and vendor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of building and automation equipment maintenance.
• Experience with external vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical equipment including conveyors, robots, motors, and sensors.
• Troubleshoot equipment controls (PLC, WES, WCS) and perform preventive maintenance.
• Keep daily logs and perform routine inspections to ensure proper operation.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate with vendors.
• Support installation and retrofit of automation systems and sustainability initiatives.

This role is responsible for all building maintenance, automation equipment maintenance, upgrades, buildouts, and continuous improvement of the facility.

1st Shift: 7:00AM - 3:00PM, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintenance of mechanical equipment (conveyors, robots, motors, pneumatic devices, control devices, scanners, photo-eyes, etc.).
• Understanding of equipment operation and basic troubleshooting for equipment controls (PLC, WES, WCS).
• Maintain daily logs, perform preventative maintenance, conduct daily inspections and routine adjustments as needed to keep the automation equipment in good working order.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests. Troubleshoot issues to determine cause and solution. This may require non-shift work.
• Assist with any automation system installation and retrofits as needed.
• Support CTDI’s sustainability initiatives.
• Work with all levels of management to define and prioritize workflow.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with building and automation equipment maintenance.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair maintenance issues.
• Working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, control systems, warehouse equipment, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
• Experience working with outside vendors and contractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
