Job summary

Performix is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for our El Paso facility. You will lead a 2nd shift of 20 employees, drive production schedules, and ensure cost, quality, and lead time targets are met.

Responsibilities include training, process improvement, people management, safety, and reporting. A strong foundation in manufacturing, lean principles, and supervisory experience is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes and systems.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing to reduce waste and improve flow.
• Previous leadership experience managing a sizable team in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication with teams and stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address production issues.

Responsibilities

• Production Schedule Achievement: Ensure attainment of production schedules while maintaining cost, quality, and lead-time targets.
• Team Training: Organize and address training needs to enhance team skills.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.
• People Management: Set goals, develop competencies, recognize performance, manage time-keeping and disciplinary actions.
• Safety Focus: Promote a safety-first culture and ensure a secure work environment.

• Team Management: Lead, train, and mentor the supervisor’s team to foster teamwork.

• Production Schedule Achievement: Ensure the successful attainment of production schedules while maintaining focus on cost efficiency, quality standards, and lead time targets.
• Team Training: Organize and address the training needs of teams to enhance their skills and knowledge, fostering a continuous learning environment.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the enhancement of industrial processes, leveraging your expertise to drive improvements and efficiencies.
• People Management; Take ownership of people management, including goal setting, competency development, recognition and engagement, daily time-keeping, performance and disciplinary management
• Safety Focus: Cultivate a safety-first attitude among all employees, promoting a secure and compliant work environment.
• Group Performance Ownership: Assume responsibility for the achievement of group performance goals and objectives, guiding your team towards success.
• Team Management: Lead, train, and mentor the supervisor’s team of the facility, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that products meet quality standards through regular inspections and adherence to quality control processes.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production metrics, performance reports, and any incidents, reporting findings to upper management.

What qualifications will make you successful?

• Bachelor’s Degree: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, not required. Equivalent experience and skills can be substituted for education
• Manufacturing Expertise: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and systems, showcasing your ability to navigate the intricacies of production environments.
• Lean Principles: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, indicating your commitment to optimizing processes and eliminating waste.
• Supervisory Experience: Prior manufacturing leadership experience (leading a sizable team), demonstrating leadership acumen.
• Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with teams and stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Display strong analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to identify challenges and implement solutions.
