Job summary

CA High Speed Rail Authority seeks an Engineering Technical Lead to provide senior oversight for structural and seismic engineering across the megaproject. The role involves guiding design and construction efforts, reviewing technical criteria, and coordinating with contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.

The position requires strong leadership, extensive experience in transportation structural/seismic engineering, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural, geotechnical, or seismic engineering related to civil infrastructure.
• Experience on design-build projects.
• Structural and Seismic engineering experience in transportation design and related work.
• Experience reviewing design criteria or specifications to guide project work.
• Understanding and applying Structural/Seismic engineering codes and design methods.
• Engineering judgment in design and construction of transportation projects.
• Experience in project management for transportation civil infrastructure.
• Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with supervision when needed.
• Experience providing technical oversight on State transportation projects.
• Experience with various phases of transportation project delivery.
• Experience with contract management.
• Experience managing contractors/consultants or leading a transportation project team.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for Structural and Seismic Engineering to support Design and Construction.
• Represent the Authority in meetings with contractors and consultants.
• Prepare technical correspondences with stakeholders on engineering issues.
• Contribute to the Duty Statement and project oversight for the megaproject.
