Job summary

Bay Area Rapid Transit seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design of bridges, tunnels, stations, and other transit facilities. You will supervise projects, develop innovative engineering solutions, and ensure safety and long-term performance of critical infrastructure.

The role requires California PE, strong experience in seismic design, and proficiency with ETABS, RAM, SAP2000, AutoCAD and Revit. Night/weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or closely related field.
• Registration as a professional engineer in the State of California.
• Three (3) years of verifiable professional structural engineering experience.
• Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex and advanced structural engineering duties in the design of District facilities.
• Prepares engineering design drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Inspects equipment or facilities and recommends structural improvements or repairs.
• Coordinates design work with other divisions and public agencies; manages documentation for contracts.
• Reviews contractor submittals and provides guidance to project staff.
• Conducts field inspections and tests structural materials as required.
