Job summary

Virginia Farm Bureau seeks a Senior Manager, Engineering Technical Lead to drive technical cohesion and standards across delivery teams. You will shape reusable patterns, automation-first workflows, and reliable platforms, partnering with Architecture, Governance, and Delivery leadership to reduce fragmentation and raise engineering maturity.

You will lead across software engineering, API development, data pipelines, and automation, aligning teams to common practices while preserving delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, IT or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering with leadership across domains.
• Influence across teams to drive standards and patterns.
• Experience designing APIs and workflow orchestration.
• Create reusable engineering assets to speed delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across teams to ensure consistent practices and reusable patterns.
• Identify cross-team risks and bottlenecks; drive resolution through standards and coaching.
• Align teams on how we build, with patterns, quality bars, and integration approaches.
• Define and socialize common engineering standards for APIs, patterns, and pipelines.
• Establish reference implementations to accelerate delivery and reduce rework.
• Promote automation-first mindset to improve end-to-end reliability.
