Job summary

Thermo Systems is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to build and lead a high-performing engineering team. This role emphasizes people leadership, recruiting, coaching, retention, and organizational development, with about 25% focused on project management and technical guidance.

You'll mentor engineers through startup, commissioning, and professional development, while collaborating with project managers and senior engineers to ensure successful delivery on complex automation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years combined technical and leadership experience.
• 3+ years as a Control Systems Project Engineer I or equivalent.
• Strong PLC/HMI and industrial automation knowledge.
• Proven leadership, communication, coaching and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team, focusing on people leadership, recruiting, coaching and retention.
• Provide technical oversight on complex control systems while limiting hands-on work.
• Collaborate with project managers for planning and execution.
• Champion Quality Management System (QMS) and continuous improvement.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

7+ years combined technical and leadership experience

3+ years as a Control Systems Project Engineer I

PLC/HMI knowledge
