Job summary

Carvana in Carmel, IN seeks a Team Lead, Engineering to guide the Marketplace team building buyer-focused applications for the new digital auction site. You will hire, mentor, and drive high-velocity engineering practices while partnering with product and design to deliver resilient, scalable software.

You will own architecture, write production code, and elevate the team’s technical capabilities across cloud, microservices, and modern UI stacks in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience creating scalable, low-latency web apps.
• Experience debugging web services and APIs.
• Experience leading engineers and coaching career growth.
• 4+ years of software engineering with advancing responsibilities.
• Strong .NET/C# experience and UI frameworks like React.

Responsibilities

• Lead the marketplace engineering team to deliver on-time software releases.
• Mentor and grow engineers, setting high technical standards.
• Develop efficient processes to sustain velocity, quality, and ownership.
• Improve resiliency, uptime, and customer-facing metrics.
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations to craft robust solutions.
• Contribute code and own key architectural decisions.
• Own the technical direction and architecture of team-built solutions.
