Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer to lead frontend development with React and TypeScript while contributing to backend services in Node.js and Java Spring Boot. You will partner with Product and UX to convert requirements into actionable tasks and mentor engineers across the team.

As a techncial voice in architecture and sprint planning, you’ll drive code quality, test coverage, and reliability, and help shape quarterly tech epics while supporting onboarding and hiring efforts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong concentration in frontend development using React and TypeScript.
• Proven experience leading or technically anchoring an engineering team in an agile environment.
• Deep fluency in the frontend ecosystem including JavaScript, CSS/SASS, HTML, and the DOM.
• Solid full stack capability with backend proficiency in both Node.js and Java Spring Boot.
• Experience working within a microservices architecture deployed to a cloud platform (GCP or AWS).
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and conduct meaningful code reviews.
• Strong instincts around code quality, test coverage, and system reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend development across React and TypeScript web applications.
• Contribute to Java and Node.js backend services to deliver end-to-end features.
• Partner with Product and UX to translate requirements into technical tasks.
• Serve as the primary technical voice for the team in architecture discussions and sprint planning.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and coaching.
• Monitor team workflow metrics and facilitate retrospectives.
• Own the team's technical debt backlog and propose quarterly epics.
• Oversee production reliability for team services including incident response.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding of new team members.
