Job summary

LCEC seeks a seasoned Engineering Leader to supervise the daily operations of Engineering, Staking, Metering, and System Planning/Coordination, ensuring high-quality power delivery and staff development in Lea County, NM.

The role requires an electrical engineering degree with supervisory experience, and a focus on protection schemes, load studies, and AMI systems. Expect field coordination, budgeting, and strategic planning responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in electrical engineering or closely-related field required.
• P.E. certification strongly preferred for NM.
• Minimum three years of directly applicable experience with prior supervisory duties.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of Engineering, Staking Services, Metering, System Planning/Coordination and Power Quality.
• Develop departmental objectives, budgets and staffing; manage capital and O&M budgets.
• Provide engineering expertise for protection, system coordination and load studies.
• Oversee AMI/Metering systems; resolve customer issues with high bills and inaccuracies.
• Coordinate with managers and departments to ensure safe, reliable service and project execution.
• Prepare construction budgets, schedules, and energy distribution plans; implement standards and practices.
