Job summary

Lea County Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to oversee System Planning, Distribution, Transmission, and metering operations.

You will supervise Metering, AMR/AMI systems, and coordination of protective equipment across the distribution network. The role requires strong supervisory and project management skills, expertise in power systems and protection, and the ability to guide long-range planning and budgets for the rural electric cooperative.

Qualifications

• Incumbent must possess a four-year college degree in electrical engineering; P.E. certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of three years of directly applicable, progressively responsible experience; prior supervisory experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of cooperative principles and power systems.
• Expertise in protective equipment, load studies, and power quality investigations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the AMR/Metering and day-to-day meter testing and maintenance.
• Provide engineering expertise and assistance for Management, Staff, employees, and members as directed by Management.
• Perform System Coordination studies and recommend protective equipment additions and adjustments.
• Assist in long- and short-range planning of the electric power distribution system and prepare work plans.
• Conduct fault studies and generate fault current reports for members.
