Job summary

Lea County Electric Cooperative, Inc. invites an Electrical Engineer to shape the short- and long-term performance of our electrical distribution network in Lovington, NM. You will lead analytical work, coordinate with the team, and plan upgrades to meet growing demand and reliability targets.

The role emphasizes rigorous planning, data-driven analysis, and collaboration across departments, with a comprehensive benefits package and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing and database tools.
• Strong mathematical skills: trig, calculus, algebra, analytic geometry.
• Familiarity with NERC, RUS; experience with SPP is a bonus.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of the electrical distribution system.
• Develop a four-year maintenance and construction plan for reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate on system optimization including load flow, short circuit, and relaying studies; develop coordination studies.
