Job summary

The City of Jefferson is seeking an Engineering Survey Technician in the Public Works - Engineering Dept. The role performs preliminary surveys, construction staking, as-built surveys, and right of way surveys using total station, engineering level, field notebook and CAD tools.

Responsibilities include setting control points, inspecting projects for city approval, maintaining survey records, and CAD data creation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Four years of technical engineering and surveying experience or equivalent.
• Willing to pursue LSIT to qualify for PLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary surveys and construction staking.
• Conduct as-built and right-of-way surveys.
• Operate total station, engineering level, field notebook and CAD tools.
• Maintain survey records and notes; inspect major projects.
• Research plats, deeds, and rights of way; set control points.
