Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Engineering Support Technologist to join our Ferroelectric Neutron Generator Final Assembly & Test Value Stream. You will diagnose nonconformances, improve processes, support automated equipment, and help develop new manufacturing technologies while maintaining operator training and process instructions.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in STEM field and 2+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Active DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Experience with Oracle, ARAS, Prime, and EIMS tools deployed at Sandia Labs.
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement concepts and methodologies.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DMF) and its application.
• Project planning and execution capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial diagnostics on nonconformances, monitor area health, identify ways to increase yields, and mistake-proof processes.
• Support and implement corrective or preventative actions.
• Seek out and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support programs associated with automated production equipment.
• Implement new manufacturing technologies or equipment.
• Be involved with new process/equipment development and qualification.
• Maintain written work instructions.
• Ensure accurate training of operators.
