Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of Module Leads and General Foreman Support Engineers for SSBN 826 construction. You will guide engineers as the primary technical contact between Engineering and Operations, ensuring timely support and clear communications across trades and management.

Responsibilities include driving issue closures, coordinating drawings and change notices, and integrating technical risks into planning.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 4 years of post graduate engineering experience.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter and Columbia-Class design preferred.
• Experience with CR/CN processes and engineering change management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Module Leads and General Foreman Support Engineers.
• Oversee engineering responses to emergent shipyard issues and communicate assessments clearly.
• Direct daily team support to trades for drawings, work packages, and technical clarifications.
• Prioritize and track drawing revisions, change notices, and engineering actions.
• Set expectations for team participation in production meetings and reporting.
• Collaborate with Operations, Planning, and Engineering leadership on risk mitigation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering evaluations for manufacturing, construction, testing, and certification.
• Maintain awareness of shipyard policies and provide informed technical guidance.
• Support government certification events and interface with stakeholders.
