Job summary

Maison Métier Hotel in New Orleans seeks an Engineering Supervisor to lead the daily maintenance and engineering operations. You will support the engineering team, ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed, and respond to repairs throughout the property.

The role requires a strong background in building systems, OSHA compliance, and the ability to mentor staff. The position supports a high-touch, design-forward environment at a boutique luxury hotel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades preferred.
• EPA, CPO, or HVAC certifications a plus.
• Minimum 2–4 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial building.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily supervision of the engineering and maintenance team.
• Assign, monitor, and inspect work orders to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to guestroom and public area maintenance requests.
• Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance and safety concerns.
• Support inventory management of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
• Assist in coordinating contracted services, inspections, and vendor repairs.
• Ensure all engineering areas, mechanical rooms, and workshops remain clean, safe, and organized.
• Maintain accurate records including PM logs, work orders, compliance documents, and safety inspections.
• Support safety programs and ensure adherence to OSHA and fire/life safety standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff.
• Assist with training new engineering team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by engineering leadership.
